Xcursion Software Download
Pathworks 32 eXcursion V7.4 is supposed to have multimonitor supprt, which until up to V7.3 was not available. I currently have eXcursion V7.3.189 running. I also have a HP Pathworks (tm) 32 Version 7.4 installation CD, dated January 2004, ref no AG- R36UG-BE from the 2006 SPL. Surprisingly, this 7.4 kit contains eXcursion V7.3.189! Later SPL CD sets that I have do not seem to contain a Pathworks 32 (Windows) CD. I have the license(s) to run eXcursion. Can anyone point me to a kit for eXcursion V7.4.
Or even an order number for a Pathworks 32 V7.4 CD that *does* have eXcursion V7.4? Thanks, Wilm CY 13:57. >for eXcursion V7.4. Or even an order number for a Pathworks 32 V7.4 CD >that *does* have eXcursion V7.4? >>Thanks, >Wilm Didnt they rename it Advanced server or something, just a thought. Might be out there with another name, now as I was informed they are adapting samba as a PW replacer. Never run X so I dont know about that.
Here you can download free an excursion in mathematics shared files found in our database. Download Exploring Corporate Strategy there. Music, software or any other files uploaded on shared hosts for free!
But we use reflection for those who do. So, the only thing I can suggest, if it is not there - it might have changed names. (not likeley though) //CY Wilm Boerhout 14:11. >>And alas, although this kit was from an 'official' Pathworks 32 V7.4 CD, >it turned out to be V7.3.189 as well.
>>So, the question in the subject still stands >>/Wilm Think I got 7.1 or 7.2 at work, and then no more CD. And never understood X, using dual screens, one for manuals, the other for terminal when working on OVMS, tried for example bookreader on X and then. Never ever not if my life depends on it will I go there. And did U get that, excursion is a server. As far as I know (tested it for 30 seconds) it does nothing.
U need a client (reflectionX or something) NO Im not selling that, just what we use, tried some others and they (when I worked with PC software) where the best for us. (Grumpy users) taking VT340/Regis to the personal computer. So an idea, if its a X client you are looking for, then there shuld be plenty. Freeware, cheap, do it your self on style. Live a little. No Ive never seen a 7.4 because we cancelled that subscription per not using PW at all.
Well, thats not something you will find on TPB either. //CY Richard B. Gilbert 13:11. Oops, then I didnt get the product working right, tried to install all program that came with the PW CD, and didnt get any Xterminal up and running. The powerterm525 wasnt that great either, need VT340 regis support so stuck with reflection, but got decnet and lat working and thats why i bought it. And yes tested X on VMS as we had (not using that if I can avoid it) the VGA card connected to our DS25 and used that as a console, but now I have connected a real OPA0: to a (OK its a PC, should be a VT340 or at worst a 420 terminal, but im running out of those) terminal, and it feels better.
More like a OVMS OPA0: should feel. Still got a VT200 with adjustable angle of the display and a video out port.
Those nice MJ45 connectors, wow, who needs a DB9/25 standard. And @ is if all else falis 'compose character' 'A' 'A', you know the key on the left that no other terminal I have seen has. The struggle with X to find out where $, @, [ and ] are everytime I start it is annoying, selecting the keyboard setting for each user logged in to the same terminal is frustrating and so on. But thats the great thing with OVMS, we can use what we want.
So I go VT, you go X;) //CY Volker Halle 01:36. Wilm Boerhout mentioned on 16:00: [.] >>BTW a kind soul is helping me to get the kit over the net. >>And alas, although this kit was from an 'official' Pathworks 32 V7.4 CD, >it turned out to be V7.3.189 as well. >>So, the question in the subject still stands >>/Wilm And for those of you who wonder where this idea of multi-monitor support comes from, here's an extract from the WHATSNEW.TXT on the same CD. They just forgot to put the correct kit in. ______________________________________________ What's New HP PATHWORKS 32 V7.4 is an update to PATHWORKS 32 V7.3.

There are various X Windows servers around for various client platforms. EXcursion is part of the PATHWORKS32 client for Windows. PATHWORKS32 includes PowerTerm, LAT, DECnet and some other pieces. Do ensure you have the proper version of PATHWORKS32 for whatever flavor of Windows you are running.
PW32 V7.4 (probably with an ECO) is current? I haven't heard about a PW32 client for Vista as yet.
There are other X Windows clients for Windows. As for other operating systems you might be using, Mac OS X ships with an X Windows server, and with ssh and other such. Here are some details of using that configuration with OpenVMS: Most (all?) Linux distributions (Gentoo, Fedora 7, etc) include an X Server. The BSDs and (I think) Erlang, as well. Ben, I support the eXcursion product at the CSC and here is a little information that may help you. *IF* you subscribe to the OpenVMS Operating System Update services, you will find a CD labled Pathworks 32 v7.4 included in your kit.
As Hoff pointed out, eXcursion is part of that CD kit. EXcursion v7.4-189 has NOT been qualified to work with Windows Vista and I do not believe that there will be any later versions of eXcursion that will support the Vista OS. We have not yet been advised on any intentions of eXcursion being updated, which makes some of the other PC Xservers mentioned more desireable. This is not to say that eXcursion won't work on Vista, it's just that eXcursion v7.4-189 won't be officially supported. We have seen the engineering efforts of the eXcursion product decline over the past few years and I'm very disappointed about it, I feel that eXcursion worked very well for what it was designed to do.
While it was not the most robust PC Xserver available, it was fairly reliable. Anyway, I'm rambling. I just wanted you to know where to find the software, and that your mileage may vary when using the current version with Vista. Cheers, Rick Retterer HP Services OpenVMS/Tru64 Unix/Linux Xwindows Support Atlanta, GA. Just to provide an update on using excursion on newer versions of Windows: Excursion only properly supports Display 1. It can be setup without any formal installation and does not require any of the other components on the Pathworks CD. It supports several different display types, far more than other X-windows servers.
Our software needs 8 plane static color, i.e. 256 entries in the color map. Such is not supported by most of the free X-servers. Additionally, the Itanium servers rx2600, rx2660, rx2800-i2 do not support static color. Their graphics capabilities are very limited. We have found that many of the X-severs do not proply position windows and sub-windows so that most of our application are unusable under these servers, addtionally they do not recognize many X11 commands causing many errro messages to be displayed. Excursion runs with no issues on VISTA 32 and 64, Windows-7 32 and 64, Windows-8 32 and 64, Windows-8.1 32 and 64, Windows-10 32 and 64.
Can't find V7.4 of excursion. It probably never made it into the wild. It is a relatively small package and runs efficiently. The major missing functionality is proper support for running a display other than display 1.
