The invoice/receipt should show the number, if not then the store/whatever where you bought it should have recorded it at sale time. The box of course usually has the number and also any paperwork like the warranty card should also have it. If you registered with Panasonic or with an extended warranty then that should also have the number. As for the exif, Googling about found no answer except that maybe it's the serial number of the internal motherboard that is in the exif and not the production serial number of the camera body. I have attached a photo from the camera if anyone can get the serial number out of it I'd be forever thankful. EXIF will show serial number (as Skeeterbytes said) before it (possibly) is partially removed after editing, which is the case with your provided photo.
In your provided photo this info has been removed so we can't get the serial number out of it. You need to provide an OOC (Out Of Camera) original non-edited photo (it should be nothing personal, and content could be anything crappy like a test shot). Writing About Writing Wordle Ebookers. Just not edited to be sure the info is still there. Thinker wrote: I have attached a photo from the camera if anyone can get the serial number out of it I'd be forever thankful. I used an online exif viewer on a G7 image from DPReview and the only camera serial number looked like the motherboard number where it also indicates build date of the motherboard. Maybe it depends on the exif viewer that is used. I think it it will be impossible to retrieve the (external) serial number from a photo for this camera. I have a number of Panasonic bodies and each camera stores an internal serial number that does not match with the external label: GF1: Internal Serial Number: (F91) 2009:11:12 no. 0XXX G3: Internal Serial Number: (X15) 2011:08:09 no.
0XXX The external serial on both cameras is unreadable GH3: Internal Serial Number: (X05) 2013:01:24 no. 0XXX, external: WE3A001XXX The lens serial number may also be available in the exif data: Lens Type: LUMIX G VARIO 14-140/F4.0-5.8 Lens Serial Number: 0909008XXXX Unfortunately there is external serial number attached to the lenses. The only method to identify Panasonic lenses and bodies is with the internal serial numbers stored in the exif data.
Note: All serial numbers above have been modified to avoid abuse.
