A workaround is to take your A3 indesign document and place it inside an A4 document. Story started with small crowding issue in Europe part of map for AA:1942. I have downloaded pretty good map consisting of several A3 parts. Since i have quite good printer but it can only print A4, is there some quick&easy way of splitting this A4 pdf in 2xA3, or i have to do it manually? (Open in image editor, rectangle select, cut/paste, save as?) And also i'm open for any suggestion from more experienced people about creating complete board afterwards. Price & ease of assembly/disassembly would be most important factors.

But for this particular problem eventually I realised that there is no reason to not just use PosterRrazor and get the work done, unless maybe if you have lots and lots of maps and want to batch-process them. In that case I would probably go back to using SVG rectangles and the command-like API of Inkscape, as I described in some old thread on this subject. IIRC, for a simple 'A3 on 2 A4 sheets' job, use a PDF viewer to print one page (portrait) then rotate 180', then print one page again. The first print crops to the left hand side of the A3 page, the second crops to the left hand side of the rotated A3 image, so the second half is printed upside down. You might be subject to non-printing areas around the paper border, but that will be true whatever techniqie you use.

Doesn't work for me - I always get the top of the A3 page, when printing to a printer or using CutePDF.
