Hey guys, been reading for a little more then half a year now and have been enjoying the information it has provided me in audio podcasting, today I have a question regarding the ATR2100 which my friend uses for VOIP and YouTube/Twitch recording.

His problem is with the USB function of the microphone seems to be broken and is considering to RMA it but can't seem to find the serial code, since I don't own the microphone and can't find any information online regarding its location on the box or somewhere on the microphone itself I am asking ATR2100 owners whom would be more knowledgeable on that information. He has tried plugging it into every port of his tower and alongside his other machines nearby in his home, sadly it doesn't appear; the cable could be at fault and is something that he'll try out tomorrow. He'll also test out the XLR with a mixer at work; if it does work and the replacement cable doesn't, he is considering buying an interface to hook up at home oppose to waiting for a replacement in the mail. Since his budget is fairly low, $30-$50 options are limited, currently he is eyeing the Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 which looks to be a good option for a budget interface though I would like to hear your thoughts on it for it's preamp. Of course if you know of a better option that would work for his budget please inform me!
